READER'S ADVISORY

Recommendations

Each week, Total Boox registered users receive subject-specific newsletters highlighting a range of titles, authors, or genres. These newsletters, archived here in accessible PDF format, make for great recommendation tools for librarians promoting Total Boox content to their patrons. Total Boox Recommendations

How-to collection

How-to books (i.e., self-help books), along with fiction books (of all types), are the backbone of our collection. This brief overview of the types of how-to titles available via Total Boox is organized into general categories familiar to librarians and Reader’s Advisory experts. Total Boox How-to Collection

Shelves

Shelves are collections of titles created by patrons on topics of their choice (e.g., beach reads). They may be private or public; if shared, anyone can download them. Publishers create Shelves to promote their books to readers, while librarians may use them for Reader’s Advisory, such as, for example, when promoting an author or event or supporting book club readings. Social Media

The best way to keep up with the growth of our content is to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. If you actively engage your patrons via social media sites, let us know if you need assistance writing Total Boox-related announcements or promoting our content in your communities.

Videos

Total Boox videos, available on YouTube, are a fun and fast way to get acquainted with our content. These short videos may focus on a subject, a specific author or publisher, or serve as instructional vehicles for patrons who wish to try Total Boox. Note: If your library uses videos to promote content, our staff will gladly produce more videos tailored to your library’s needs.
